Women face more health challenges today than ever before.  Women are more likely to get an autoimmune disease compared to men.  Women are more likely to get hormone related cancer compared to men.  And they are quickly catching up to men in the categories of heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure.  Statistically they are more likely to be on antidepressants as well.

What is going on?  There is something seriously wrong with how the female patient is being managed in traditional medicine.  She lives her life hearing that birth control is the answer for everything, until it’s not.  And then later feels that managing an out of balance female cycle requires an ablation or a hysterectomy. 

It’s time for a change.  Change can only happen with a deeper understanding of what goes on with our female patients and to treat them uniquely.  It is time to know enough to educate them more fully about their choices and then provide the tools they need to live a happy and healthy life!
